G&L Legacy – Pickguard Swap and Setup
G&L is hands down, the very best of all Leo Fender’s work through the years. I haven’t played one I didn’t enjoy and that’s the unanimous consensus of any G&L owner I’ve met.
The previous owner of this decided to install a humbucker in the bridge position. I don’t know what his or her technique was when enlarging the route from the single coil, but it was a little rough around the edges.
The current owner saw it as an eye sore and ordered a replacement pickguard from Chandler guitars (which are manufactured in the same city as Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and the city I went to college, Chico, CA!)
Hats off to Paul Chandler’s craft. The replacement pickguard not only fit right in place, but every single screw hole lined up flawlessly. This made for a quick and easy job and the guitar was back in it’s owner’s hands in a day’s time.
